How to Restore the Webbing in a Chaise Lounge

Your favorite outdoor chaise lounge chair likely gets a lot of use. As you bask in the sun's summer rays or listen to the pitter patter of rain on your roof, your chair is going through a major workout. If your lounge chair has backing and a seat that is webbed, then the need to replace it is sure to come up eventually. Once you have decided to restore your outdoor chaise lounge chair, the rest is easy! By following these three easy steps, you are sure to complete the project in no time. You are going to roll in the compliments from your friends and family members as they marvel at your handiness.
First: Find new webbing
Visit yard sales and thrift stores for old pieces of furniture with webbing you can re-purpose. Alternatively, many fabric, hobby and hardware stores carry furniture webbing. If finding the webbing is difficult, try a local furniture store or carpenter; they should point you in the right direction.
Second: Remove the old webbing
Most webbing is held in place by staples or screws. Simply use a screwdriver to remove the staples or screws and take off the old webbing.
Third: Cut new webbing
Using the old pieces of webbing as a template, cut the new webbing you found on an old piece of larger furniture or at a fabric, hobby or hardware store.
Fourth: Staple the new webbing in place
Use a staple gun or tacking nails to hold the new webbing in place. Remember to staple it securely; falling out of your newly restored chaise lounge would hurt!
